" Hey, Mayor Bloomberg. I heard you took a shot at us in the  Post . What's with all the swearin' like a sailor? Fleet Week is over. It's just music. "   —  Howard Cogan of then Jack FM in New York,  picking up on  Mayor  Michael Bloomberg's  criticizing about WCBS's sudden change in format. I haven't thought of another flip in Philippine radio. They're doing it again. I turned the radio one day on 99.5 MHz while doing schoolwork, and I was surprised to hear stingers of a new station. The tagline: "This radio station is under construction..." After undergoing two reformats and going back on the air, 99.5 RT will change. The so-called "Rhythm of The City" will be replaced. Some of the programs were dismissed, including the famous The RT30 . Some of the DJs, as my sources said, bid their goodbyes, but you can still hear other DJs on the air.You can still hear the name 99.5 RT, but it's already clear that the station is working...

How time flies so fast. At a sweep of seconds, it's another new year. Fireworks appear around cities and neighborhoods. Greetings of  "Happy New Year!" are heard. In New York, that glowing ball symbols the coming of the new year. In London, the Big Ben strikes banging "dong"s. Bright fireworks cover the atmosphere of the Sydney Opera House in Australia. New Year has come. It's year 2012. I would just like to wish you a Happy New Year . It's another blessing from God. Therefore, let us entrust to Him this year. Besides, it is He who will decide whether 2012 would be the apocalypse or not. We really don't know. Though circumstances may come, let us hold our heads up high in the Lord. Put yourselves into His hands. Anyway, time flies so fast, that not only it's 2012. I'll go back to school once again. How short vacation is. However, I hope that I'll do better this time. In addition to all of this, I hope you'll continue to read The Teena...

As a young boy, I'll usually get to listen to RJ 100 , an adult contemporary--that's the genre of the music they're playing--radio station in the Philippines. Also, I'll listen to songs from CDs containing mostly 80s music. And as I grew up, my interest in old school music went on. As a freshman, I listened to such stations like 99.5 RT , Magic 89.9 , 96.3 Easy Rock and 105.1 Crossover for nice old school music. I listened and searched for music from bands like Men Without Hats, Fra Lippo Lippi, V.S.T and Co., Bee Gees, Naked Eyes, Eurythmics, Industry, JoBoxers, The Go Go's, Nena, Toto, Huey Lewis and The News, Hall and Oates; and artists like Rick Astley, Phil Collins, and Michael Jackson on the Internet. But most of all, my interest for old school music grew during this recent summer and as a sophomore. As I spent my sweet summer before I went on 2nd year in high school, I learned about Tears for Fears, China Crisis,Level 42,our very own bands here like The Daw...
